City of Vancouver creates “Chief Housing Officer” position


Vancouver City Manager Penny Ballem has appointed Mukhtar Latif as Chief Housing Officer for the City of Vancouver. The post is new to the city and has been created as the latest development to the Mayor’s Task Force on Affordable Housing, which concluded last year. The Housing Officer will be tasked with implementing the recommendations of the task force toward the goal of creating more affordable housing within the City of Vancouver. Latif joins the City from a senior position in international property consulting, and has a background in non-profit and private housing development in the UK.
